Interested in becoming a YBAC Hurricanes coach? The Hurricanes are always looking for part-time coaches to consider for staff.
Position Overview
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week (primarily weekday evenings)
- Meets: Average of 1 meet per month, usually on weekends
- Pay: $12–$14 per hour, based on experience and certifications
- Start Date: August/September 2025 (flexible)
YBAC Staff - Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist practices for swimmers ages 6–14
- Emphasize stroke development, skill progression, and fun
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured practice environment
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and staff on training plans and swimmer development
- Attend assigned swim meets to support athlete growth and team goals
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and teammates
YBAC Staff - Qualifications
- Prior coaching or teaching experience with children (swimming preferred)
- Working knowledge of swimming fundamentals and stroke technique
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Growth mindset and commitment to athlete-centered coaching
- Must be able to complete (within 30 days) or hold current:
- USA Swimming or YMCA Coaching Certification
- CPR/First Aid & Safety Training for Swim Coaches
